The trophy is on permanent display at Western Golf Association headquarters in Golf, Illinois. The champion also will receive a replica of the trophy.
A native of Texarkana, Ark., Wadley was a successful businessman in both the oil and lumber industries, who, at the age of 40, turned his attention to golf. He learned to play golf from two-time Western Open champion Jim Barnes (1917, 1919) and served as a Western Golf Association director from 1921-1924.
